ALEXANDRA BUWALDA PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL THERAPY

I am a New York State licensed pediatric physical therapist based in Park Slope, Brooklyn.  Having previously worked in the United Kingdom and Belgium, I moved to the United States twenty years ago.

My goal is to help infants and children attain their gross motor skills and achieve their highest level of independence within their environment. In particular, my focus is toward developing basic motor skills such as sitting, rolling, crawling, or walking, as well as more advanced motor skills such as balance and co-ordination. Other issues that may need to be addressed are loss of range of motion, strength and flexibility (possibly due to injury, illness or surgery).

UPDATE: now also offering video conferences

  • Considering the current COVID-19 threat, I now also offer video conferences in the safe environment of your home. Even though it will not replace a therapeutic hands-on session, I will guide you through some simple but effective handling techniques to promote your child’s gross motor development.

  • I continue offering home visits (if you live within the vicinity) and in-person office visits. I follow strict infection control guidelines and protocols according to the CDC and state regulations.

Please contact me for further information.
